Bilmekte fayda var
- A natural breed: it developed on the Cycladic islands without human breeding programmes.
- Usually bicolour or tricolour, almost always with white.
- Unusually fond of water and known among fishermen for its interest in the catch.
Kime uygun
Families wanting a hardy, sociable cat that talks back and does not mind a busy household.
Bakım
Comb the semi-long coat once or twice a week. Hardy and undemanding otherwise.
Irkın tarihi
Never bred by anyone in particular: these cats lived around the harbours and villages of the Cycladic islands for centuries, fed by fishermen. Greek breeders began recording and standardising them only in the 1990s, making it Greece's first recognised breed.
