Bilmekte fayda var

The blue-grey coat is the classic, but the breed comes in dozens of colours.
The coat is crisp rather than soft, standing away from the body.
Said to be the model for the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.

Kime uygun

Owners who want an affectionate but not clingy cat, and who are out during the day.

Bakım

Brush twice a week, daily when the coat drops in spring. Watch the weight — this breed is not an athlete.

Irkın tarihi

Rome's legions brought cats to Britain, and the descendants worked barns and streets for centuries. Harrison Weir put them in the first cat show at Crystal Palace in 1871, and the breed nearly vanished in the world wars before being rebuilt with Persian crosses.
