Bilmekte fayda var

Developed from the 1980s by a Bengal breeder aiming for tiger-like markings.
Stripes should be broken and vertical, unlike an ordinary tabby's.
Contains no tiger ancestry whatsoever.

Kime uygun

Owners who want a striking cat with a calm, trainable temper; many walk on a lead.

Bakım

Weekly brushing. Teach it tricks and give it climbing space — it is clever and wants a job.

Irkın tarihi

Judy Sugden, daughter of the Bengal's creator, began the breed in the 1980s after noticing tabby markings on one of her cats' temples. She added an Indian street cat to the programme in 1993 and worked toward broken vertical stripes over twenty years.
