معلومات مفيدة
- Written about in France since at least the 18th century.
- The dense woolly coat is water-resistant and breaks at the neck like sheep's wool.
- Often described as smiling, because of the shape of the muzzle.
لمن تناسب
People who want a devoted but undemonstrative cat, calm enough for a flat.
العناية
Comb rather than brush, twice a week; the double coat mats if it is only skimmed over.
تاريخ السلالة
French legend credits Carthusian monks with keeping these cats, though there is no record of it in the order's archives. They were certainly known in France by the 18th century; the breed was rebuilt after the Second World War from cats found on the island of Belle-Île.
