تاريخ السلالة
Longhaired cats from Ankara reached Europe in the 16th century and were the original longhaired cat of the West before Persians overtook them. Near extinction by the 20th century, they were preserved by a breeding programme at Ankara Zoo, which still supplies foundation cats.
