Bon à savoir
- Straight-eared kittens are essential to the breed: two Folds must never be bred together.
- Carries none of the cartilage mutation and so avoids the joint disease.
- Otherwise identical to the Fold in build and temper.
À qui convient-elle ?
People who want the round Scottish look without the health risk attached to folded ears.
Entretien
Brush weekly, twice weekly for longhairs. No breed-specific joint worries.
Histoire de la race
Not so much bred as required: because two folded-eared cats must never be mated, every Scottish Fold programme produces straight-eared kittens. For years they were sold as pets without papers; registries now recognise them as a breed in their own right.
