Bon à savoir
- Adults weigh 2 to 3 kg, among the smallest cats in the world.
- Developed in Rostov-on-Don from naturally short-tailed cats in the 1980s.
- The small size comes from natural genetics, not from dwarfism.
À qui convient-elle ?
Flat dwellers who want a small, gentle cat that is easy to keep and to travel with.
Entretien
Weekly brushing. Watch portion sizes closely — a small cat gains weight on very little.
Histoire de la race
Began in Rostov-on-Don in 1983 with a short-tailed male kitten named Kutsy. Russian breeders kept the line going quietly for decades; international registries took an interest only in the 2010s, by which time the breed was already established at home.
