알아 두면 좋은 점

Every American Curl descends from a stray found in California in 1981.
Kittens are born with straight ears that begin to curl within a few days.
The ear cartilage is firm; the curl is a shape, not a floppiness.

잘 맞는 가정

People who want a gentle, people-following cat and are happy to be careful with its ears.

관리 방법

Handle the ears gently and clean them only when needed. Weekly brushing; longhaired ones twice a week.

품종의 역사

A long-haired stray with strangely folded-back ears turned up at a house in Lakewood, California in 1981. She was named Shulamith, and every American Curl alive descends from her. The breed was recognised within a decade, unusually fast for a new cat.
