小知识

Developed from the jungle cat, Felis chaus, and domestic shorthairs.
Later generations are kept as pets; early ones are not house cats.
Some lines have a shortened digestive tract and do poorly on grain-heavy food.

适合人群

Experienced owners with space, time and a legal right to keep a hybrid breed where they live.

日常护理

Check local rules before buying. Feed high-meat diets, and provide serious climbing and running room.

品种历史

Jungle cats and domestic cats have interbred along the Nile for thousands of years. Deliberate crossing began in the United States in the 1960s and 70s, and the breed was accepted for registration in 1995 as a way of keeping wild jungle cats out of people's homes.
