Good to know
- Split from the Ragdoll in 1994 after a dispute among breeders.
- Unlike the Ragdoll, it is allowed in every colour and pattern.
- Takes four years to reach full size.
Who it suits
Families and first-time owners who want a patient, handleable cat.
Care
Comb twice a week. Keep it indoors: it is too trusting to be safe outside.
History of the breed
In 1994 a group of Ragdoll breeders left the strict control of the founding association and took their cats with them. Barred from using the Ragdoll name, they called their cats Ragamuffins and opened the standard to every colour.
